Ocean Beach is located in Northland on the North East coast of New Zealand. It is a swell magnet for the area and gets good waves for surfers of all levels.
The Ocean Beach Boardriders Club was founded in 2005. We are a relatively small club with an enthusiastic core group and continue to grow.
The club aims to provide a forum for local surfers to meet and compete at a local level, and to facilitate entry in to national events. We are a SNZ affilliated club which allows our members to take part in SNZ sanctioned events. We have several members who compete succesfully at this level, especially in the Hyundai Longboard circuit.
We also aim to foster surfing amongst juniors and we have a surf school operating through the club.We have put several members through surf coaching courses and have a commitment to continue to encourage juniors to learn and participate. Surf school is free to club members.
